This enrichment toy is one that is used for zoo animals so it can withstand varying levels of force, chewing, etc. depending on the size/thickness that is chosen. Save-A-Pet has long-term canine residents who need enrichment to enhance their lives while in the adoption center and we must be cognizant of their health and safety. With some of our top chewers, we need to provide toys that are not easily destroyed or that can harm our dogs. This Boomer Ball will be able to withstand even our rowdiest and toughest chewers to give them an enrichment item that will survive year after year of playtime with hundreds of dogs. We would love to get 3 of these so we could have one for the Doggone Fun Park, one for our pens on the bottom of the hill, and even one that we can put in the "no toy" pen so that even our dogs with a history of ingesting toys would have their very own ball to safely play with!
This enrichment toy can help reduce stress in dogs and to reinforce socialization practices. Providing a dog with enrichment allows the animal to have a sense of control over their environment, which can help to reduce and avoid stress.
